Donation
of a DogPoo Container
at Dinosaur Park in Gold Canyon
On Saturday May
15th, 2004 the members of Gold Canyon D.O.G. –Dog Owners Group-;
members of the community; Sandie Smith, Pinal County Supervisor
for District 2; Marlene White-Miller, Co-Chairperson of
the Gold Canyon Community Parks; and of course, all our four-legged
friends, met at Dinosaur Park to have a very unusual Dedication
Ceremony; D.O.G. donated a DogPoo Container for the Park!
Dinosaur Park
was built entirely by volunteers and donations, however it is not
an off-leash area for dogs; they must be on a leash. D.O.G.'s
Mission Statement is to “Promote
Responsible Dog Ownership” and this container
will be very useful. Attached to the container is a special box
so people can donate and recycled plastic bags.
We want to thank
the community for the wonderful response to our project; to Sandie
Smith for supporting our group and working diligently in trying
to find us a suitable site for the off-leash doggie park; to Tommie
Baca from Apache Junction, for building the wood containers
and to Corky Wagner from Signs USA in Apache Junction for
the beautiful signs he made (I know they gave us a great price for
their work, thank you so much!)
We encourage subdivisions to have similar containers
in their walking paths
